                                                                Reducing Tobacco Use in Nebraska:
                                                                What Works

Experience and research in state after state has lead to a well-developed understanding of what works to reduce tobacco use. A well-funded, comprehensive program is a critical starting point. Combine a comprehensive program with specific strategies proven to provide an environment that helps support individuals in choosing healthy, tobacco-free lives, and tobacco-use rates and the death and disease that come along with tobacco use all drop.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that Nebraska spend $21.5 million annually on a comprhensive program to reduce tobacco use. A summary of the recommendations is found below, or you may view a full copy of the Best Practices for Comprehensive Tobacco Control Programs.
