Tobacco Free Sarpy recognized four individuals for efforts to reduce tobacco use at a May 25 event, as reported in the Bellevue Leader.
Recognitions for the event included for Business of the Year, Law Enforcement Officer of the Year, Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year.
Omaha Storm Chasers owner Alan Stein was recognized for his decision to make the Omaha Storm Chasers and Werner Park a smoke-free ballpark. Bellevue Police Chief John Stacey was named the Tobacco Free Sarpy Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for his work in tobacco out of the hands of minors.
Margaret Stamp of Highland Meadows Apartments in Bellevue, who has made Highland Meadows a smoke-free apartment complex, was recognized as the Tobacco Free Sarpy Partner of the Year.
Sandy McCarthy was honored as Tobacco Free Sarpy Volunteer of the Year.
